UPDATE: A man arrested at Eiffel Tower subsequent to wielding a blade before visitors and security strengths has advised examiners he needed to kill a trooper, sources near the case told AFP on Sunday.
He was “immediately overwhelmed and captured” and nobody was harmed, the organization that runs the historic point said.
France has been under a highly sensitive situation since the November 2015 assaults in the capital that left 130 individuals dead.
The occurrence at the Eiffel tower occurred at 23:30 pm (21:30 GMT) on Saturday night.
After the capture, police emptied the tower.
The man kept was wearing a Paris Saint-Germain football shirt.
The tower was lit up with PSG’s group hues and facilitated a screen showing a message inviting Brazilian star Neymar to the club.
