Nelly Marie Christine Zoller was diving into her grandma’s satchel a week ago, searching for treat. The 4-year-old found a weapon. Her burial service will be held Thursday at Sunset Funeral Home in Thonotosassa.
Nelly’s obit could be the portrayal of any 4-year-old young lady: “Nelly cherished playing with her puppy, watching Shimmer and Shine, playing at the Splash Pad in Tampa, hopping on the love seat and doing her make up.”
Tampa police gave this report of the occurrence: “On Sept. 14, at some point before 2:22 p.m., Yanelly Zoller, 4 year old female, supposedly found a gun in her grandma’s satchel and incidentally shot herself. The grandma, Christie Zoller, and granddad, Michael Zoller, were at home with the tyke at the time.”
Her given name was Yanelly, however everybody called her Nelly. “Left to treasure her memory are her folks, Shane and Lisette; siblings, Liam Zoller and Noah Banksdon; fatherly grandparents, Michael and Christie Zoller; and maternal grandma, Cindy Villareal,” the obit says.
There will be an appearance on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home, 11005 N. U.S. Interstate 301, Thonotosassa. Memorial service administrations will start at 1 p.m. taken after by interment in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Her dad told the Tampa Bay Times that she was scanning for treat in her grandma’s satchel. She was shot in the chest.
“I was heading to lift her up with her swimming outfit in my auto to take her to the sprinkle cushions,” Shane Zoller told the Times. “When I pulled up, that is the point at which I saw all the police lights.”

The family is fund-raising for Nelly’s memorial service costs on GoFundMe.com and You Caring.com. The GoFundMe account had raised $1,485 on Thursday morning. The objective is $5,000.
