Man Dead After Pulled From Water in Long Branch

A 34-year-old man who was swimming at the Jersey Shore this end of the week has passed on, police say.

The swimmer was in the water off 7 Presidents Beach in Long Branch on Saturday when he started to battle, Long Branch police say.

Lifeguards pulled him aground and endeavored to resuscitate him, police said. He was taken to Monmouth Medical Center where he kicked the bucket.

Another beachgoer had attempted to safeguard the swimmer yet must be protected by lifeguards, police said.

Additional lifeguards were on obligation Saturday as a result of the warm climate.

Days sooner, a New York lady was pulled oblivious from unpleasant waters at a New Jersey shore shoreline.

Erin Higgins, 42, of Harriman, was swimming in the chest-profound water Wednesday evening with a companion when they obviously got in a tear ebb and flow, Asbury Park police said. She kicked the bucket the following day.
