A man has been captured on doubt of murder after a body accepted to be that of a female cop was found in a lake.
Criminologists trust the casualty is Leanne McKie, a 39-year-old mother of three who presented with Greater Manchester Police.
Cheshire Police had been called to Poynton Park close Macclesfield at around 3.45am on Friday morning in the wake of getting reports that a body had been found.
A 43-year-old man from Wilmslow, Cheshire, is right now being addressed by police.
Analyst Inspector Adam Waller stated: “We know about various bits of gossip circling in connection to the character of the casualty and, while formal distinguishing proof has not yet occurred, we do trust that the casualty is 39-year-old Leanne McKie from Wilmslow.
“Leanne was a mother of three youthful kids and a serving cop in Greater Manchester Police. Our musings at this troublesome time are with Leanne’s family, companions and associates.”
He added that the occurrence gives off an impression of being disconnected, and police are not searching for any other individual in connection to her passing.
