Two Liberty High School understudies are charged after police said they composed a bomb danger in a lavatory, provoking a departure Friday morning.
Around 9:15 a.m., Bethlehem Area School District Superintendent Joseph Roy tweeted that Liberty understudies have been emptied to the stadium. Roy said the bomb danger was composed in a restroom.
Understudies came back to the school around 10:30 a.m. after police looked through the school and decided the danger was a trick.
Police say two understudies — ages 15 and 16 — are accused each of terroristic dangers for making the bomb risk. Both will be charged as adolescents and will be kept in the Northampton County Juvenile Detention focus pending court activity.
“Episodes like this are pointless in the present society,” said Bethlehem police Chief Mark DiLuzio. “They make undue anxiety and nervousness numerous understudies and guardians of understudies.”
