Two-year-old A.J. Burgess was taken to the crisis room Sunday morning for treatment of a peritonitis contamination. A.J. has been sitting tight for kidney transplant surgery.
The kid’s dad, Anthony Dickerson, is being denied the chance to give his solid kidney to the kid, in spite of being a flawless match in light of the fact that Dickerson as of late abused his probation. The family’s story has spread worldwide since being profiled on 11Alive News not long ago.
A.J. was conceived without kidneys, and keeping in mind that his father is a flawless match, they had an issue once they discovered that Dickerson had disregarded his probation.
Emory Hospital advised the family he would need to give confirmation of “good conduct” for the following three to four months previously they would allow him to give his kidney to his child. They said they would re-assess the circumstance in January 2018, however the family fears that might be past the point of no return.
The family’s attorney, Mawuli Davis, released a statement Sunday morning:
“The family is asking for people of all faith traditions to be in prayer today for Baby AJ. His spirit is strong but his body is weakening.”
The family has been frantic to spare A.J’s. life, and is requesting help from any individual who might have the capacity to speed up the way toward transplanting another kidney for A.J.
