A lady who entered a secret settlement concurrence with Bill O’Reilly in 2002 while at Fox News charged in a claim Monday that the “serial abuser and quitter” spread her as a liar, breaking the terms of their arrangement.
Rachel Witlieb Bernstein, a previous junior maker at Fox News, is one of six ladies who supposedly went into settlement assentions in the wake of claiming misuse by O’Reilly.
O’Reilly was constrained out of Fox News in April following a progression of disclosures about affirmed lewd behavior and manhandle. O’Reilly has kept up his blamelessness, saying “I never abused anybody.”
That line, and in addition other open proclamations, spoke to a break of his settlement manage Bernstein, she claims in Manhattan Federal Court.
“O’Reilly introduced himself as a casualty of a huge trick and not a serial abuser and defeatist taking cover behind the non-exposure assentions he constrained his casualties to sign,” her lawyer Neil Mullin wrote in a protestation.
“Mr. O’Reilly is the liar. He abused Ms. Bernstein. She was constrained out of her activity at Fox News and paid a settlement in light of his abuse.
She went to HR and other organization administrators to gripe about him a few times. Fox News made no move to shield offended party from O’Reilly.”
The New York Times revealed in April that Bernstein left the system in the wake of documenting a protest about him “raging into the newsroom” and shouting at her. The measure of cash she got subsequent to entering the settlement in July 2002 isn’t known.
Bernstein says in her suit she was not a hotspot for investigative stories on O’Reilly’s conduct.
Her suit names both Fox News and O’Reilly as respondents and looks for harms to be resolved at trial for break of agreement, slander and different cases.
“O’Reilly depicted Ms. Bernstein in a false light, criticized and derided her character, raising doubt about her intentions in detailing O’Reilly’s manhandle to HR and at last being constrained out at Fox News with a settlement assention,” she asserts in her suit.
