Matt Damon’s father Kent Damon has died after a long growth fight. He was 74.
The performing artist’s dad, a previous stockbroker, passed away on December 14, E! News affirmed on Saturday.
In 2011, Matt uncovered his father was engaging different myeloma, a blood malignancy that influences the plasma cells in bone marrow.
At an advantage for Massachusetts General Hospital, the performing artist told WCVB-TV that while the disease is serious, his dad was doing admirably and will “battle it to a stop.”
His father’s condition had intensified lately, The Boston Globe announced.
In late October, the on-screen character traveled to Boston and missed the 2017 Britannia Awards, refering to a family crisis.
At the function, he was regarded with the Stanley Kubrick Award for Excellence in Film and Kate Mara acknowledged the honor for his benefit.
Since his dad’s analysis, Matt has helped bring issues to light and finances for growth research and treatment, The Boston Globe said.
Matt last opened up about his dad’s wellbeing in a meeting with Extra prior this month.
